Bone Boy Billy

Our third profile and this one's about everybody's favorite troublemaker. George may be young but he's still got plenty of story to tell. Name: George, nicknamed Georgie Age: 2 Favorite Food: Cinnamon crackers (Killer clowns is a close 2nd) Theme Song: Laplace's Angel (Hurt People? Hurt People!) by Will Wood Abilities: Magical summoning, sharp claws, can devour a clown whole, manipulation History: Georgie is the product of some wild years his mother spent partying with monsters. His dad being a rather chill demon she spent a good amount of time with. They split only a few months after Georgie was born which was difficult on the little guy. Welcome to our second character profile, going further in depth on Billy's mom, Zindy! Read on to learn all about her! Full Name: Zindrellia, goes by Zindy Age: 37 Favorite Food: Steak & Lobster Theme Song: Season of the Witch by Donovan Abilities: Vast magical knowledge, too many spells to list here. History: Born into a long running coven of witches, Zindy was something a free spirit from day one. Never really jiving with her mother's world of darkness and curses. Her mother was the head mistress of the Great Order of the Eye. A coven that worshipped the Eye of a long dead Dark God. It's Eye being all that remained. Storing all it's immense power to be channeled by it's followers. Zindy was initiated into the Coven, but she only stuck around a few short years as a full member. Her free spirit often lead her to seeking other outlets. Becoming a big fan of the peace and love movement from the 60's/70's and trying to help recreate that love for the world....

 Welcome back to another Behind the Bones, folks. Today I wanted to give you all a peak into the making of the comic by showing what is probably the most important step: The Rough version/layout for the comic.  Here's a rough for the second comic, introducing Georgie. We see the main idea is mostly there in that original rough. One change was the panel with the words was made bigger and I decided not to have George stuffed as he walks away.  Here's the final version for comparison. You can see what changes were made. Almost no comic is one to one the same as the rough version. Here's the rough for comic 3, Zindy's intro.   Welcome to the first of many Bone Boy Billy Profiles! Giving you all some more insight into the characters, their history, the world and overall lore of our silly little comic. Who better to start with than the main character himself? The Bone Boy, Billy! So let's get some details out of the way first. Name: Billy Age: 10 (when he passed) Favorite food: Pizza. Just about any kind.  Theme Song: Seasons in the Sun by Terry Jacks Abilities: Regenerates from anything, can disassemble and reassemble himself instantaneously, can roll into a ball to knock someone down. History: Billy was ten years old when his life changed forever. Because it ended. Billy doesn't talk a lot about his previous life. Though he does admit he was previously a huge scaredy cat. Afraid of his own shadow and cautious every step of the way. It still got him six feet under. Now he's got a new lease on his, uh, afterlife. Brought back from the dead by his powerful witch mother.  2nd half of the Dreamers storyline in which Billy helps a wayward sleep demon find a new purpose. Hope everyone out there keeps searching for their dreams, no matter how wild.

  After getting back on the horse with deciding to bring Bone Boy Billy back to life last October the first thing I realized I wanted to do was complete a series of advertisement drawings for the comic. Little pitches to give you the feel for the main characters you're gonna meet. I drew one back in 2023, which was the first post of the blog, but I had several in mind.  George's was pretty easy to figure up. Little demon baby, he's up to no good. Summoning some trouble. How can that baby even read? I was never sure if I was gonna keep the goatee or not and I'm glad I dropped it. The 'stache is enough for the little dude.  My very first advert idea. I still really love this slogan.  Zindy's advert. Was still getting a feel for drawing her character again after not drawing her for a whole year. She doesn't actually have a broom in the comic. Again, these were more about capturing a certain vibe of the character. Convey that she's a hippie witch mom.  Nancy...
