Welcome back to another Behind the Bones where we dig into ancient burials and unearth long dead secrets. Today we're completing the second half of Billy's adventure into existence! After a few years on and off tweaking Billy, the idea went dormant. Never fully formed. Never given enough time to become something more. A rough estimation of Billy's design around 2018 That was until 2018! When I began a new creative endeavor with two former companions. Such endeavor reignited my interest in creating Billy and I had finally decided to draw the dang thing for myself. I'm going to chronicle the couple of years working on this nameless project, developing Billy in full and how it all kinda fell apart horribly in the end. Should be fun. First how it all started.  Welcome back to another Behind the Bones. Where we look at the making of and history of Bone Boy Billy, it's characters, it's world, it's weird lore, all the good stuff. Today we're gonna open the curtains on the early days of the series and describe it's slow transformation before it became the beautiful (?) butterfly we all see today. Here is a rough attempt at recreating the first Billy doodle. So first up as mentioned previously, Billy began as a doodle mistake. An attempt at drawing the Xenomorph from the Alien franchise (please don't sue me Disney) that I kinda botched and turned into a weird alien skeleton monster. I liked the image and when trying to re-draw it, could never get the angle right and was never really happy with it. So I quickly decided to ditch the alien design and go with him being a normal skellington. The only holdover from the alien idea was how he revived.  Billy's adventure to toughen up continues! After realizing he's kinda bad at everything, Billy figures out something he can do. How very relatable of him. 

 Billy learns to toughen up. Or not. 

 Billy learns a tough lesson. Or not. I tried to draw this one like all the panels were a descending underground pyramid. Not sure how well it turned out.

  Oltan may seem lazy, but he keeps the place safer than they realize.
